Our San Diego-based criminal defense law firm is seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, and self-directed paralegal who can serve as the primary point of contact for our current clients.

You must be able to multi-task and think on your feet while making smart decisions. We revel in being unique in the way we approach everything related to criminal defense and business and embrace the fact our firm is not for everyone. 

$28 - $37 hourly

Daily tasks shall include:

• Conveying confidence in person and on the phone, demonstrating exceptional communication skills and an ability to develop rapport with current clients, local courts, and prosecutorial agencies ( primary duty)
• Implementing, improving, and ensuring adherence to the Firm’s policies and procedures to reflect the Firm’s high standards
• Embracing attention to detail, transparency, and accountability
• Strong multitasking and task management skills; a self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic
• Treating a client or task at 5:15 P.M. on a Friday with the same care and compassion as one Monday morning at 9:15 A.M.
• Managing multiple calendars and keeping schedules for more than one person
• Copying, scanning, filing (physical and electronic filing)
• Data entry using common web-based formats; Familiarity with MS Office Suite
• Drafting Declarations and Motions while working alongside the Firm’s Clients and Attorneys

This is not an entry-level position. Nor is it a virtual or hybrid position. Prior paralegal experience is a must, and Spanish language fluency is preferred.

The compensation package includes a generous base salary commensurate with skill and experience. We offer a generous PTO/Sick time policy, up to $5,250 per year in tax-free student loan and tuition repayment, a 401(k) plan with a 4% Firm match, and firm-sponsored medical insurance, disability insurance, and life insurance.
