Job Description
Our client is looking for a BIM Modeler/Designer to join our Design team located in Bellevue, WA. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for developing 3D models and producing drawings in CAD based on these models for hydraulic structures including locks, dams, levees, guide walls, bridges, and other infrastructure. The BIM Modeler/Designer will be an integral part of a team that is nationally known for their expertise in inland navigation, flood control, and coastal protection structures. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience utilizing BIM software abd willingness to learn Bentley OpenBuildings software.
In this role, you will proactively engage with project managers and design engineers to ensure timely project completion within allocated budgets, which may include occasional overtime work. You will assist structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering staff in the development of complex preliminary and final designs of hydraulic structures. You will Analyze complex sketches, notes and other input to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete models and drawings with support from senior members of the CAD team. you will also Develop 3D models of project features using CADD software, experience with use of BIM software to develop 2D conventional drawings from 3D models. You will coordinate with the CAD Managers to implement project-specific CAD standards. Set up project drawings to conform to client standards. Implement additional material data through Parts and Families or Instance Data Catalogs to meet specifications provided per project to produce Product Schedules and Quantity Reports. You will need to be able to maintain these Libraries for a Project, Communicate effectively with engineers and other CAD team members and Utilize CAD best practices and QA/QC procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency of their work.

Required Skills & Experience Associate degree in related field (experience can be substituted for degree).
- 5 years of relevant experience and working knowledge of structural/ electrical/ mechanical engineering principles, practices, and methods.
- 3 years of strong design experience and competence with BIM software (i.e. Revit, with a willingness to learn OpenBuildings)
- Proven knowledge of plan set development and ability to conform to various jurisdictional standards is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, committed to project schedules and deadlines, able to work within a team environment and independently, and self-motivated.
- Solid work ethic with attention to detail, a care for the handling of projects, and a desire to improve and grow their knowledge.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience - Experience using U.S. Army Corps of Engineers CAD Standards is a plus
