This is a remote role strictly for candidates within the United States.

We are seeking a talented Web Developer to join our engineering firm. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining web applications that support our engineering projects and enhance our online presence. You will collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to create user-friendly interfaces and ensure seamless functionality across our digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Web Application Development:

    • Design, develop, and implement web applications using modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular).
    • Create responsive designs that ensure optimal viewing experiences across a variety of devices and screen sizes.
    • Build and maintain back-end services and databases to support web applications.
  2. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with engineers and project teams to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
    • Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, gather feedback, and address any technical challenges.
  3. User Experience (UX) and Interface Design:

    • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and improve user experiences.
    • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual designs that align with the firms branding and client needs.
  4. Quality Assurance and Testing:

    • Implement and conduct thorough testing (unit testing, integration testing) to ensure high-quality deliverables.
    • Troubleshoot and debug applications, resolving issues in a timely manner.
  5. Maintenance and Updates:

    • Regularly update web applications to improve functionality, enhance security, and integrate new features based on user feedback.
    • Monitor website performance and implement optimizations for speed and efficiency.
  6. Documentation:

    • Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, development processes, and project workflows for future reference and onboarding of new team members.
  7. Staying Current:

    • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in web development and engineering applications.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities and attend relevant workshops and conferences.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a web developer, preferably in an engineering or technical environment.
  • Strong proficiency in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and familiarity with back-end technologies (Node.js, Python, PHP, etc.).
  • Experience with frameworks and libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
  • Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) and API integration.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in responsive and mobile-first design.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG).

Job Types: Full-time

Pay: From $55.50 - $60.50 per hour

Schedule: Monday to Friday (8 hours daily)

Expected hours: 40 per week
