About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Business Development to lead the expansion strategy across North America. The successful candidate will be responsible for securing new events through creation or acquisition, in line with the company's annual and long-range plans. This pivotal role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including data and analytics, marketing, operations, and regional leadership, to identify and develop growth opportunities. The VP of Business Development will also be tasked with analyzing market trends, registration demand, and consumer behavior to define regional targets, as well as creating and implementing a strategic growth plan for the event portfolio. Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to build and negotiate relationships are essential for this position. Applicants for the Vice President of Business Development role at the company should have a B.A./B.S. degree in business, economics, sports management, or a related field, and a proven track record in business development, particularly within the sporting events sector. The role requires an individual with excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills, who is highly self-motivated, driven, and proactive. The VP will be expected to have a deep understanding of the regional mass participation markets, including key event organizers, host cities, and agencies. Strategic thinking, the ability to adapt to market trends, and a talent for both high-level strategic thinking and tactical negotiating are crucial.
