We specialize in locating and identifying underground utilities to ensure the safety and efficiency of construction and infrastructure projects across Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Utility Locator to join our team in Sioux Falls and surrounding areas of South Dakota. As a Utility Locator, you will be responsible for accurately identifying and marking the location of underground utilities such as communication, gas, water, sewer, and electrical lines. Your work will play a critical role in protecting of the infrastructure of your local and surrounding communities.
Responsibilities:
- Use industry leading equipment and technology to locate and mark underground utilities.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction crews to ensure accurate utility information.
- Follow safety protocols and best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of utility locations.
- Communicate effectively with customers and team members.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous utility locating experience is a plus but not required; we provide training.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read maps and know directions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Pre-employment drug testing is required.
- Ability to walk an average of 5+ miles per day dependent on work load.
- Willingness to work in all types of weather conditions.
- Willing to work overtime as necessary.
