Base pay range $125,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr Position Overview High growth/dynamic REIT is looking for a sharp Tax Manager. Direct Hire or Consultant! Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage all aspects of income, property, sales, and business taxes for all legal entities within the organization, including ongoing research and application of federal and state tax laws. Build and maintain strong relationships with both U.S. and international CPA firms, ensuring effective collaboration and compliance. Coordinate with CPA firms for the preparation, review, and consistency of all tax filings, ensuring alignment across all entities. Manage cost segregation engagements and ensure accurate recording and classification of assets for tax and book purposes. Evaluate and determine proper capitalization or expensing treatment for assets and oversee related accounting entries. Provide strategic tax guidance to management and CPA firms on business decisions, tax structuring, and compliance matters. Oversee tax payments, including estimated payments, and ensure timely and accurate informational returns and provision calculations. Ensure compliance and maintain the legal standing of all entities, including supporting the closure of entities when necessary. Maintain the qualification of the organization’s REIT entity and provide guidance on tax implications of transactions for internal and external stakeholders. Address and resolve any issues related to tax filings and compliance. Prepare and distribute required investor documentation, such as Schedules K-1 and Forms 1042-S, and respond to related inquiries. Manage escrow accounts, payment recording, and unclaimed property filings for entity closures. Maintain and optimize the organization’s tax-related software systems. Qualifications and Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax-related roles. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to and utilize various software platforms effectively. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent; Certified Treasury Professional accreditation preferred. Experience in real estate or familiarity with Yardi Voyager is a plus, but not required.
