Our Location

Energy Trust provides for a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Sr. Project Manager would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We’re Looking For:

The Senior Project Manager – Commercial will support Program Managers in the Commercial Sector of the Energy Programs Team in execution of complex projects and strategic program initiatives, while ensuring alignment with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and best practices. This individual will be responsible for RFP development, budget planning and tracking, and contract management and implementation. This role will collaborate in developing scopes of work, defining project approaches, and establishing key milestones. This position reports to the Senior Program Manager of the Existing Buildings Program.

The Senior Project Manager will also oversee and track deliverables for the Existing Buildings programs’ contract with its program management contractor (PMC). This role will manage scope, schedule, and budget tracking, while ensuring contract implementation aligns with program goals, timelines, and compliance requirements. This role will support the PMCs in implementing necessary changes to the SOW, applying evaluation findings to enhance program effectiveness, and supporting seamless execution between project owners and stakeholders.

Additionally, this role will facilitate cross-collaboration between Commercial Sector program managers, supporting the creation of best practices, documentation, and process development, and improving efficiency. This role will lead group facilitation, team building, and coordination between Commercial Sector project managers with cross-cutting roles, under the direction and in collaboration with, the Commercial Sector Lead. The Senior Project Manager will have experience in successful approaches and processes to facilitate, build, and manage high-performing project teams.

This position is expected to report to the Portland office quarterly, at a minimum, for the all-staff meetings and other in-person meetings.

What You’ll Do:

· Lead project management work related to RFPs and implementation of contracts on behalf of the Existing Buildings Program.

· Team leadership: oversee project teams of staff and contractors to drive the successful execution of implementation plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and performance metrics.

· Compliance: coordinate with Commercial Sector Lead and program managers to ensure compliance requirements are met, including but not limited to, internal and external financial reporting, audits, evaluations, and public communications.

· Risk management: proactively identify and mitigate project risks. Maintain risk documentation and own stakeholder communication.

· Budget management: manage contract budgets, including financial performance tracking and reporting, invoicing, and forecasting. Drive accountability among Program Management Contractors (PMC) to meet key deadlines and deliverables within budget. Communicate savings, budget performance, and key program metrics to internal stakeholders.

· Process development and documentation: ensure accuracy, organization, and compliance within project management documentation, utilizing PMO best practices and guidance.

· Communication: develop project communication plans, ensuring clear reporting to internal stakeholders.

· Facilitation: lead meetings and collaboration with project managers to implement best practices and align workstreams across programs.

· Assist in program evaluations and reviews.

· Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

· This position will direct the work of external contractors.

· This position may direct the work of interns.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree (engineering, science, economics, finance, business, environmental science, public policy or architecture preferred), or equivalent professional experience.

· 5-8 years of relevant experience in managing program initiatives or project management.

· Demonstrated ability to work constructively with multidisciplinary teams that may have divergent interests.

· Systems implementation strategy – knowledge and experience in successful systems implementation strategies.

· Group facilitation and team building – successful approaches and processes to facilitate, build, and manage high-performing project teams.

· Strong organizational development and process analysis skills.

· Good organization, time management skills, problem-solving skills and issue resolution.

· Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.

· Ability to support change management efforts related to project implementation.

· Ability to produce clear, concise reports, recommendations, and presentations.

· Minimum of 3 years' experience managing multi-million dollar contracts.

· Minimum of 2 years' experience managing RFPs.

· Project and contract management skills.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word software applications.

· Strong technical aptitude.
