Sundial Beach Resort & Spa , located on tropical Sanibel Island, is seeking an Recreation Supervisor to join our team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with staff scheduling, understand budget hours for occupancy
  • Be able to interpret department budget expenses and contribute to successful management of expenses
  • Assist with training for all positions in recreation department, be able to perform each position
  • Be able to assist/complete monthly retail inventory
  • Assist in /management of available retail inventory (manage product visibility)
  • Complete inspection of related pool areas for damage, safety and repair issues i.e.: decking of cabanas
  • Complete monthly inventory of recreation equipment, including but not limited to bicycles, helmets, chairs, umbrellas, watercrafts, and report issues to Activities Manager
  • Identify, complete and document necessary repairs of recreation equipment
  • Ensure all equipment including bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, beach chairs and umbrellas are clean and maintained properly. Maintain inspection and repair records
  • Order supplies for equipment repairs *(in conjunction with Management/budget guidelines)
  • Coordinate necessary service for Cabanas: setup, food delivery, cleaning and service repair schedule, etc.
  • Position chairs and umbrellas on beach for guests
  • Coordinate crafts and activities for children
  • Closing/opening the pool deck and beach
  • Observing and reporting any safety issues
  • Able to swim in, enter, and exit the pool to assist with facilitation “in water” activities
  • Able to stand outside running activities in the sun, including, but not limited to, water balloon toss, beach volleyball, tug of war, etc.
  • Assist in set up and break down of special events
  • Have complete knowledge of all policies, standards and procedures of the department, including Safety
  • Be familiar with resort services, amenities, and outlets
  • Patrols pool and beach areas to help with the overall maintenance, daily upkeep and cleanliness, and the operation of cabanas
  • Available for work assignments outside of associate’s customary work schedule. This may include evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays.
  • Compliance with all resort policies and procedures as described and communicated by management
  • Be a first responder for injured guests on the beach or pool area while alerting the safety department
  • Assist with spills and/or accidents in the pool
  • Coordinate recreational programs on a day-to-day basis for all age groups according to needs and interests of guests/owners, resort requirements, and seasonal opportunities
  • Monitor pool activities, towel inventory control, and all other activity common areas

Required Skills:

  • Must be good with children
  • Must be able to swim
  • CPR certified
  • Valid drivers’ license to operate a Resort golf cart
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
