Summary

A Pre-K Teacher is responsible for creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for young children, typically aged 3-5 years. They plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons that focus on developing early childhood skills, including language, math, social interactions, and motor skills. In addition to teaching, the teacher supervises children throughout the day, ensuring their safety during play, mealtimes, and nap times. They also help children develop important social and emotional skills, such as sharing, cooperation, and emotional regulation. Pre-K teachers regularly assess each child’s progress, document their development, and communicate with parents to provide updates and address concerns. They maintain an organized, structured classroom that fosters a positive learning environment, ensuring the space is safe, clean, and conducive to growth. Through their role, Pre-K Teachers lay the foundation for future academic success while nurturing the overall well-being of each child.

Duties

  • Ensure Safety and Supervision
  • Supervise children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being during play, meals, and rest.
  • Plan and Implement Activities
  • Organize age-appropriate learning and play activities to promote cognitive, social, and physical development.
  • Support Social and Emotional Growth
  • Foster positive social interactions, teach sharing, and help children develop emotional regulation skills.
  • Assist with Personal Care
  • Help with daily tasks like feeding, diapering, and toilet training, as well as personal hygiene.
  • Communicate with Parents
  • Provide updates on children's progress and daily activities through regular communication with parents.
  • Maintain a Clean and Organized Environment
  • Keep the classroom and play areas clean, organized, and safe, ensuring children have a positive space to explore and learn.

Requirements

Job Requirements :
  • Minimum Age Requirement
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Experience with Children
  • Previous experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, or similar environment is preferred.
  • TCC Certification
  • Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) certification is preferred, demonstrating knowledge of early childhood education standards.
  • Passion for Early Childhood Education
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their developmental growth.
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Reliability and Professionalism
  • Must demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and maintain a professional, positive attitude in all aspects of the role.
