POLICE OFFICER
CITY OF BEAVER FALLS, PENNSYLVANIA
Qualified persons are invited to apply to the City of Beaver Falls Civil Service Commission to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as a Full-Time Patrolman in the City of Beaver Falls Police Department.
An application packet can be obtained beginning Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at the City Building, second floor, 715 15th Street, Beaver Falls, PA 15010 between the hours of 8:30 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, except legal holidays.
Completed applications must be returned by 3:30 PM, Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
No applications will be accepted after Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 3:30 PM.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen, be a minimum of 21 years of age, must have successfully completed Pennsylvania Act 120 Certification, including passing the final exam prior to submitting the application, or, must either be (1) recommended for certification through the MPOETC as a Police Officer pursuant to Act 120, or (2) if the applicant has neither completed Act 120 training and nor possesses current Act 120 certification, applicant must be currently enrolled and attending training in a MPOETC-certified training school or academy which provides a basic training course for police officers, required to live within twenty-five (25) air miles of the Beaver Falls City Building, possess a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Driver’s License, and be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer as determined by the physical and psychological testing. Successful applicants must meet all other Civil Service requirements.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS - FULL TIME PATROLMAN: Starting salary for 2025 per contract is $51,756.47 (contract 2025 Patrolman top tier base salary is $76,506.31 and 2026 Patrolman top tier base salary is $80,331.63) with an excellent fringe benefit package including UPMC medical, AFLAC supplemental insurance, dental and vision insurance plan, pension plan, three (3) weeks vacation and three (3) personal days after one year probation, $800.00 yearly clothing allowance, sick and holiday bonuses, additional compensation for court attendance, education compensation and reimbursements, shift differential.
TESTING DATE AND TIME: The physical agility test will begin at 9:00AM on Saturday, 17 May, 2025 and will be conducted at the Geneva College Merriman Athletic Complex, 3200 College Avenue, Beaver Falls. The written test will begin immediately following the physical agility test, also on Saturday, 17 May, 2025 and will be conducted at the Beaver Falls City Building. All applicants that successfully pass the physical agility test and written examination will be ranked and then scheduled for an oral interview to be held at the Beaver Falls City Building on Saturday, 17 May, 2025 after the written examination.
