Job Description

The Plant Manager is responsible for effectively managing all functions of the local Supply Chain and developing collaborative partnerships with both colleagues and external stakeholders. He or she must deliver the agreed to business results while maintaining positive employee relations. The primary accountabilities of the role include Supply Chain financial performance, plant production, Customer Service, Quality, SHE, labor relations, people and organization development, and maintaining strong community relations. 


The Plant Manager must be an effective and valuable member of the local management team, to ensure delivery of subsidiary business results.  The Plant Manager works within a structure that requires considerable interface with Divisional and corporate management. The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring that all functions in the Supply Chain are aligned with corporate goals.


As one of the visible representatives of the site, the Plant Manager also assumes a key role in developing mutually beneficial relationships with the local community, vendors, and regulatory instances.

Join our  Vancouver, WA  team as  Plant Manager  in a unique opportunity to lead a team of 17 associates in a liquid blending manufacturing environment.  In this role, you will report to the VP of Manufacturing and be responsible for overall safety, quality, cost, service, and direction of all activities concerned with product production and shipping.

What You Will Do:

  • Drive a culture that is consistent with Ecolab’s company values
  • Provide exceptional leadership to direct reports and to the site as a whole
  • Develop and align the local Supply Chain vision, mission, strategy and objectives with divisional and corporate strategy and objectives
  • Ensure adherence to Ecolab’s, local and governmental guidelines related to SH&E, quality, regulatory, and the code of conduct/ethics
  • Ensure safety, quality, productivity, cost, and service of the Supply Chain and meeting KPIs
  • Own TPM implementation and culture
  • Manage people, materials, equipment, and business processes to deliver site performance objectives, as measured by corporate and local KPIs
  • Empower team by way of training, information sharing, coaching, feedback, appraisals, and delegation to ensure the development of people and organizational capabilities
  • Interface and liaise with corporate headquarters to manage communication and information flow between the plant and external environment
  • Develop and implement strategic capital expense budgets to ensure long term technical and financial viability of the plant’s manufacturing processes and ensures alignment of the budget to divisional and corporate strategy
  • Role model effective change management strategy, planning, and executions
  • Develop and implement labor strategy in partnership with HR
  • Develop and execute a site master plan of the manufacturing and distribution facility as well as organizational capabilities, necessary to support future growth
  • Develop a continuous improvement vision at the plant while energizing employees to embrace and support a Total Productive Management (TPM) and High Performing Organizations (HPO) culture.
  • Help manage plant environmental control and compliance including managing wastewater permit testing and filings
  • Help manage new product introductions, including Material SAP Setups
  • Help manage site process safety including Management of Change, RedList, site permitting and process safety evaluations

Plant Hours of Operation:  4AM – 5PM

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Sciences, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 5 years’ experience in manufacturing
  • Prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • No Immigration Sponsorship available for this opportunity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment in a related industry
  • Prior supervisory experience in a chemical manufacturing environment in a related industry
  • Experience with TPM
  • Strong verbal and written communication

Annual or Hourly Compensation Range

The base salary range for this position is $130,100.00 - $195,100.00. This position is eligible for annual bonus pay based on performance, per plan terms. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
