Key Position Details:
Allina Health is seeking a Interventional Radiology Physician Assistant.
1.0 FTE
Inpatient/outpatient role.
Position may include weekends and call in the future.
Located at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis
Job Description:
Principle Responsibilities: Perform minor procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, thyroid fine needle aspiration, arthrography, CT and US-guided biopsies, etc
Perform pre- and post-procedural follow-up patient evaluation, draft notes in the medical record
Call results of imaging examinations, if needed
Administer contrast agents and radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by the radiologist
Administer general medications as prescribed by the radiologist in conformance with organizational policy
Care of the patient prior to, during and following radiological procedures, wound management, diet intervention, insertion and removal of vascular catheters, management of drainage tubes
Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
Refers for specialty care when determined.
Consults with physician when patient needs outside of APP scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree completion of accredited Physician Assistant program.
Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of experience post Physician Assistant training strongly preferred. Prefer 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience.
Licenses/Certifications: Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
BLS required within 180 Days
Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required
Drug Enforcement Administration upon hire required
Physical Demands: Medium Work*:
Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $55.24 to $76.43 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
