Job Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Cuts, trims, and prepares meat for sale to customers.
• Receives and fulfills custom orders.
• Receive, inspect and store product upon delivery
• Packages and displays meat.
• Labels meat to indicate cut, grade, preparation date, best-by date, and other relevant information.
• Maintains the sharpness, cleanliness, and sterilization of knives and tools.
• Ensures preparation areas are kept clean.
• Closely follows all safety and sanitation procedures.
• Monitor inventory and sales trends for better ordering.
• Answers questions regarding types, cuts, and suggested preparation of meats.
  •Coordinates communication with other departments to ensure the proper rotation and management of resources and avoid spoilage.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Thorough understanding of types, cuts, and preparation methods of meat.
• Understanding of, or ability to quickly learn, applicable food handling and sanitation requirements.
• Ability to use knives, scales, and other implements safely and with precision.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to concentrate on a singular task.
  •Previous experience of at least 1 year of work or experience in similar role.
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to read, write and perform simple math

Work includes walking and standing for prolonged periods, bending, stretching, carry, lift up to 35 lbs. etc. Repetitive arm and hand movements, and moving and lifting products and demanding work conditions such as: cold & hot temperatures, sporadic exposure to outside weather conditions.
