Our client is a global manufacturing organization serving multiple industries across the world.    Due to their diverse industry base and commitment to excellence in manufacturing, they have grown rapidly in recent years.    Due to internal promotion, they are looking to hire a Materials Manager in their Atlanta GA manufacturing operation.

Main duties of the Materials Manager include:
Directly leading a small team of Buyers, Planner and Shipping Specialists
Lead all procurement activities throughout the plant including inventory control and shipping/receiving 
Utilize an ERP system everyday and use Excel and Access for controlling/documenting all procurement activities
Ensure the timely delivery of all goods to all customers
Work closely with the Plant Manager
Ensure the smooth delivery/movement of goods throughout the plant (metal fabrication, forming, welding operation) 
Use Lean Manufacturing skills to improve all procurement activities 
Monitor all metrics (KPI-driven leader)

Qualifications include:
BS degree (in any field, but technical preferred).  Experience over education will be considered, but the BS degree is strongly preferred
Strong materials/inventory control and shipping/receiving experience
Lean/CI driven leader
Exceptional communication skills and natural leadership skills
Must have ERP and/or SAP experience.   Computer-savvy person highly desired
