A bit about us:

We are actively recruiting for a litigation paralegal to join our client's midtown Manhattan offices. The position is with a nationally recognized firm that specializes in complex litigation for high-profile plaintiff securities fraud, corporate governance, and shareholders rights claims.

A strong cite-checking and Bluebook citation skillset is required for success in this role. The incoming paralegal will have a engaging responsibilities related to case development and client advisory services, collaborating directly with senior attorneys and other legal support team members to help push ongoing cases forward and determine the viability of potential new claims. Candidates with federal court filing experience, strong attention to detail, legal research, and analytical skills are encouraged to apply. We are seeking paralegals who want to work in a dynamic litigation environment with an organization committed to providing a well rounded experience and effectuating change in securities law and corporate governance. Core job responsibilities include:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on securities laws and regulations
  • Proofread and cite-check/fact-check briefs, complaints, and other documents
  • Manage and organize case files and exhibits
  • Prepare and file court documents, including initial complaints and pleadings to secure new business
  • Organize and track case files, and maintain reference files
  • Prepare for depositions, hearings, trials and /or client meetings
  • Prepare client memoranda and reports, client retentions, and client development initiatives

Job Details

Qualifications:

  • Strong experience as a paralegal in a complex litigation setting, preferably in securities or commercial litigation
  • Federal court filing experience is required. Delaware Chancery Court experience strongly preferred, but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of securities laws and regulations
  • Solid experience and skills performing cite checking and Bluebooking
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • A strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong research skills and proficiency in using various research tools including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, and other court-related websites
