At Empower With Purpose LLC, we work with adults who have disabilities ranging from autism, intellectual disabilities, down syndrome, etc. We support them with enhancing their life skills in their everyday life. We teach them money management, budgeting skills, social skills, health management skills, apartment searching, job searching, in-home tasks such as cooking and cleaning, and much more (we do not do it for them) we support them by learning how to do it independently up to their capabilities and we support them with doing the remaining task as needed. I emphasize that we do “with" not do for. We are there to support guide and mentor.

Our company is about empowering individuals who have disabilities to live meaningful lives by teaching them new skills in every aspect of their lives. My program is a supported living services (SLS) program vendored through the Westside regional center.

Qualification/requirements:

• I'm looking for someone who is a people person, outgoing, talkative, who is great at mentoring and communicating in a professional manner. Matching staff personalities with clients' personalities is important to ensure a good fit for both.
• There will be plenty of communication with clients, families, and professional entities that the clients work with such as Dr's office, SSI office, DPSS office, etc., or any resources clients are interested in finding.
• Experience in the field of working with adults/ children with disabilities is a plus, but not required
• Good understanding of a variety of developmental disabilities although training is provided
• I'm looking for someone passionate about this field and helping others, who will encourage individuals to learn new skills and not just do things for the individual.
• Driver license required is reimbursed as we do drive clients -a clean driving record is needed
• Able to pass a background check
• Bilingual is a plus but not required
• Problem-solving skills are crucial, as we do support clients with a variety of challenges that may arise in their life
• Time management and organization skills are important as we are teaching and supporting others to manage their life
• At the moment health benefits are not provided but will be in the near future
• Paid sick days off are offered
• If the potential candidate has report writing/ strong writing skills and leadership skills, there is more potential to grow into a leadership position to work side by side with me.
