Underground Surveyor II

FLSA CLASSIFICATION:

Non-Exempt

GRADE ASSIGNMENT:

NX09

JOB LOCATION: Leer Mining Complex - Grafton, WV

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Provide, Surveying, Mine Planning, and AutoCAD services to underground mining operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Perform underground and surface surveying as part of the surveying team
• Prepare and update mine maps and profiles using AutoCAD
• Work with engineers in design of new mine projections and projects
• Interface daily with underground supervisors

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Associate's Degree in Surveying - Qualified experience may be substituted for degree
• Two years of experience in surface and/or underground surveying
• Professional Land Surveyor Registration a plus
• Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Proficient with survey note reduction
• Proficient with setup and operation of total stations and leveling equipment
• Proficient with setup and operation of Trimble GPS and data collection equipment
• Solid knowledge and experience of surveying fundamentals, calculations, and note taking techniques
• WV Underground Experienced Miner Certification Required
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills required
