Lind Marine is seeking a full time entry to mid-level heavy equipment and crane operator for shipyard located in Vallejo. Our company is primarily engaged in the marine and mining industry, offering many career opportunities, both on land and water.

Operators are responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment including, but not limited to wheel-loaders, material-handlers, cranes, and other equipment. Operators are to operate equipment safely and effectively at various locations and in various conditions on land, piers, docks, water, and floating platforms. They will identify and assist in maintenance and repairs as needed for equipment. Operators are to monitor weather, traffic, and other hazardous site conditions to conduct safe and effective operations. Operators must be able to follow direction and obey all environmental, governmental, and safety regulations. Operators must be physically fit for duty.

Previous experience with rigging for crane lifts a plus. Must be able to work in all season weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervised mooring, spotting, and shifting barges and equipment
• Proficient operating of small equipment, including skid-steers, forklifts up to 8,000 lbs
• Supervised operating of medium to large equipment including forklifts up to 13,000 lbs, wheel-loaders up to 5 cy bucket, material-handler up to 7 cy bucket
• Equipment Pre-shift Checklists
• Operations Reports
• Lubricants, fluids, and wear-items checks and services
• Rinsing, washing, and general upkeep of the equipment
• Supervised rigging of the equipment
• Novice line-handling skills, including but not limited to throwing, catching, and securing mooring lines
• General labor
• Cutting torch
• Basic mechanical weld prep

Applicant Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Ability to lift 50 pounds safely and unassisted.

Minimum of 2 years experience.

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $35 to $45 per hour. These figures represent what Lind Marine reasonably expect to pay for this position, but actual compensation offered will depend on numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to qualifications, skills, experience, location, education, and market data. Lind Marine reserves the right to modify the range in the future.

This position will require a drug test physical and background check.
