Forester Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Forester to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for forestry and is ideal for candidates with a background in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture, environmental studies, natural resources, or a related discipline. Experience and willingness to work outdoors in all weather and dynamic terrain are necessary.
Compensation: $40,000 to $60,000 based on experience, including incentives Responsibilities of the Forester Position: - Develop and implement forest management plans
- Conduct forest inventories and assessments
- Monitor forest health and identify potential threats
- Work with landowners to apply and maintain a number of conservation practices.
- Supervise and train forestry staff.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as wildlife biologists and land managers.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Manage budgets and resources
Requirements of the Forester Position - Bachelor's degree in Forestry or a related field
- Strong knowledge of forest management practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with GIS and other forestry software
- Physical Demands: Regular and routine prolonged walking over field terrain and bending, lifting, and stretching when utilizing survey instruments and equipment.
- Work Environment: Regular and recurring exposure to agricultural and construction-type equipment while operating. There may be exposure to heat, snow, ice, herbicide, and chemical spray operations, which require safety precautions.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel
