The Assisted Living Director ensures the quality care of all residents in conjunction with the Executive Director and Resident Care Coordinator. The position requires an understanding and commitment to the principles and values of the community. This position requires creativity and flexibility with residents who have complex situations and is at times stressful. The Assisted Living Director requires an ability and willingness to assist with the training of the Medication Techs in tasks required for a safe and compliant medication delivery system. The Assisted Living Director position requires a caring nature and willingness to care for the elderly. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with tracking and recording incident reports. Assure the incident investigations are completed. Conduct evaluations such as smoking and safety evaluations in conjunction with quarterly assessments. Complete delegation training, assessments and documentation per state guidelines. Implement interim service plans as care needs change and assure all medication techs are in-serviced on implementing interim service plans as needed. Assure home health, hospice and ancillary care providers communicate their visits and provide necessary documentation of their visit. In conjunction with the Executive Director, hire, train, supervise, counsel as needed, and terminate the care staff as conditions arise. Complete MAR audits and other department audits as directed by Executive Director. Work as manager of the day as directed by Executive Director. In conjunction with Executive Director, perform evaluations, counsel, discipline and discharge if necessary, all health care staff. General record keeping and filing as needed. Perform such other tasks as may be required from time to time by the management of the property. Other Requirements: Must have appropriate administrator license and license must be in good standing (i.e. Assisted Living, Memory Care, RN, LVN, LPN etc.) A minimum of three (3) years prior experience in a management position at a retirement, assisted living or skilled nursing community, or related business is preferred. Demonstrated ability to appropriately delegate responsibility with necessary authority without relinquishing his/her overall responsibility and accountability for the delegated task. Demonstrated ability to identify problems in a timely manner, develop effective resolutions to those problems and ensure implementation of the proposed resolution, confirm results and revise as necessary. Must be a Licensed Nurse in the appropriate state. Must possess a current state-specific driver's license and appropriate driving record. Proficiency in English preferred. Attends in-services monthly required for position. Receives and maintains CPR certification. The Assisted Living Director qualifies for a Performance-Based Bonus Program !
