VP of Flight Ops
CHI Aviation is seeking a Director of Flight Operations to join the team.
Job Responsibilities:
Establish operating procedures and policies.
Manage a team of UAV pilots and contractors in CONUS and OCONUS operations.
Responsible for the career development of flight operations personnel.
Coordinate and approve test cards for UAV flight testing and demos.
Coordinate and request FAA-restricted airspace as necessary.
Make recommendations for product quality and reliability.
Interact with customers and technical and production staff.
Identify and pursue business development opportunities.
Review schedules and budgets with program managers.
Approve project expenses related to the execution of flight operations functions.
Influence the overall objectives and long-range goals of the business.
Acts as a principal investigator on Accident/Incident review committees.
Supervises Unmanned Flight Operations Pilots and Contractors.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum 6 years of experience in Tier 2,3 or 4 UAV flight operations.
UAV flying and technical experience are required, and instructor experience is highly desired.
Mission Commander (MC) and Air Vehicle Operator (AVO) certifications with Piccolo autopilot are required.
OCONUS UAV deployment experience required.
Experience and knowledge in OSHA and DCMA procedures and safety requirements.
Minimum 2 years of personnel training, evaluating, and supervisory experience.
Minimum 2 years of UAV testing experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
U.S. Citizen with a current passport.
