Position: Corporate Tax Accountant

Position Type: Full-time

Overview: This role involves tax planning, research, and compliance. The Corporate Tax Accountant reports to the Tax Manager and VP of Finance. The position focuses on tax expense reduction, maximizing cash flow, and adhering to international tax laws. A strong understanding of the company's business and creative problem-solving are essential.

Responsibilities:

• Manage tax planning and research, identifying tax minimization strategies at international, state, and local levels.
• Prepare consolidated income tax provisions, financial statement reporting, and tax accrual disclosures in accordance with IFRS.
• Ensure timely preparation and filing of federal, state, and cross-border tax returns for Canada and the U.S.
• Develop and maintain transfer pricing documentation for cross-border transactions.
• Oversee audits and work closely with tax officials to resolve compliance issues.
• Implement internal controls and procedures for Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance.
• Manage tax-related projects with external consultants.

Qualifications:

• 4-6 years of corporate tax experience, specializing in tax planning and compliance.
• Experience with Brazilian, Canadian, and U.S. tax is preferred.
• CPA or advanced degree preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of international tax laws.
• Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to stay updated on regulatory changes and their impact on tax strategies.
• Travel required for tax training, dispute resolution, and staying familiar with company operations.
