Test Technician - Rocket Propulsion Components
Huntsville AL
Contract: $53.13/HR
D Shift - Fri - Sun 5am - 5pm We are seeking a motivated
Test Technician II to support the testing and validation of rocket engine hardware. In this hands-on role, you will work with critical propulsion components, executing a variety of testing procedures to ensure performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities: - Perform pressure testing on propulsion components, including valves, housings, manifolds, and combustion chambers.
- Conduct nitrogen and helium leak checks and troubleshoot non-conformance issues.
- Support environmental testing activities such as vibration and thermal exposure.
- Perform hydrostatic proof tests and water flow evaluations.
- Assemble specialized test tooling and maintain strict cleanliness standards for oxidizer and fuel systems.
- Manage calibration and upkeep of critical test equipment.
- Operate safely around hazardous systems, chemicals, and high-pressure environments.
- Assist with process improvements to optimize cost, efficiency, and throughput.
- Support the creation and improvement of electronic manufacturing instructions and documentation.
- Read work orders and move efficiently through assigned tasks.
- Identify and document non-conformances and participate in corrective action efforts.
Preferred Experience and Skills: - 4+ years of experience working with pressure systems and component testing.
- Hands-on experience using hand tools, torque wrenches, torque guns, and supporting crane-assisted lifts.
- 1-2 years minimum of manufacturing experience (backgrounds in aerospace or automotive are highly preferred, but not required).
- Familiarity with electrical assembly, wire harness fabrication, and test equipment is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications.
- Experience contributing to the development of new manufacturing or testing processes.
- Proficiency with technical software tools (CAD, scheduling systems, issue tracking platforms, Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong communication skills across all levels of an organization, both written and verbal.

- Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder), or have been granted asylum/refugee status in the United States.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for short periods.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, overtime, and weekends as needed based on hardware schedules and training requirements.
